What Are People Thinking?

One great thing about this time of year is all the parties!

The Lilly Pulitzer party last week was adorable. Yes there were alot of teenagers there but they are a big part of their target group. The gift bag that I recieved was so cute! I've never had a Palm Tree cookie before, and pink and green too.

The best party so far would have to be the Calvin Klein Euphoria bash. veryyyyyy posh.

One brand that I love is Morphine Generation. They've been around for a while, and I was thrilled when my favorite by-appointment-only boutique started to carry more and more.

Cute and comfortable shirt. Tres Edgy

Amazing jacket. the design on the back and the breast pocket attracts so much attention

I love how they have designs on the outside of the collar. When you turn up your collar. it's right there. fabulous!

And a good men's line too. . .

Virtually the same thing as the women's line. but never the less flattering and oh so edgy
I heard their launch party was fantastic. Very . . . underground. I wasn't there but a friend was and she said it was almost 80s ha!

This brand almost reminds me of Yellowfever. Very Lou Doillon.

FINALLY got my Marc Jacobs crochet necklace yesterday after being onthe waitlist for eternity. They're gold and they look like they would be made of metal, but it's crochet!

Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink
- carrie bradshaw. shoeshopping.

These Delman rope T-straps are so cute. Very dirty dancing in Casablanca. Do not wear unless you have dainty ankles. the worst thing about T-straps is that they can make your ankles look wonderfully delicate, or horrifically elephant-like. Readers beware.

These earthy Valentinos are so adorable. The flower in the middle would match perfectly with any of this seasons's dresses. Instead of being just trendy with the metallic shoe, Valentino added the fall staple color- brown and the texture is just fabulous!

Yves Saint Laurent. Need I say more?

Christian Louboutins. Very very tricky to pull these shoes off. They have leather tassels, animal print, and a killer high heel.
But it is possible. Maybe a white pants or suit with a leather statement bag and these kicks. The heel is oh so sexy

Judith Leiber. Her accesories ( I hesitate to call them bags) are always an eye catcher. I love this clutch. I think of Tokyo and Harajuka ( yes. it's harajuka to be PC). To all my friends out there. this will absolutely be on my wishlist.

Until next time

Dresses for moi

I have found some fabulous dresses that I like. I don't want to be too cliche with this season's trends and styles, but I want to look fabulous. So I've posted some of my favorites here.

I am currently apartment hunting preferably in the Villiage or Midtown East or Upper East Side.

Adorable Prada Ombre dress. I love the color and the sheen of this fabric. I would not wear the undershirt. Pair it with a pair of Louboutins and a Bottega clutch, i'm good to go.

This is the fall-2006-ified version of the LBD. It looks like a blouse that I have from Viktor and Rolf. I like the idea of colored tights with this dress, and a Judith Leiber Clutch.

I absolutely ADORE this dress. However, I would change the colors to a deep deep purple and a rich fushia. Roland Mouret always has nice red carpet-esque dresses. This dress and a diamond necklace or a black jet beaded necklace would be TO DIE.

I just really liked this dress.I would wear it with suede or satin purple or brown ankle boots and a hat probably. So cute!

Louboutins. I just love that Red bottom

I'm in a cab right now and I think we are almost there, so I shall blog later

Young and Fabulous

I was picking up my friend who works on wall street and as I was walking, I saw these side walk vendors and their bling and ghetto gold. I stopped and spent a good 20 minutes picking jewelry out. I think it's so much fun to wear this type of jewelry. I mean, when your young, you should go with it and wear whatever you want. When you get old, you don't have as many options and you can't get away with things. Victoria Beckham doing the RocaWear ad, a few years ago. I adored it and I actually bought a RocaWear suit myself.

Also, I stopped by one of my favorite hush hush perfume boutiques, and I stocked up on my collection of cult fragrances. These are some of my favorite.( these are mostly perfume oils because thats all I wear- the fragrance is stronger and lasts longer)

Kai- very relaxing, has gotten very big over the last year. Tropical feeling and a mix of exotic flowers and gardenia. very simple and clean

Monyette Paris is my personal favorite. Besides the darling packaging, the scent is timeless and sexy. Some say its even an aphrodisiac. The scent is rich, vanilla-based, and VERY yummy.

Quelques Violettes- a very rare perfume that is an intoxicating blend of . . . violets! It's soft powdery scent is irresistable. The violets come from Parma, Italy where something about the wind gives the violets there a special smell.

Another great perfume, Luctor et Emergo. Blend of white flowers, vanilla, almond, cherry and precious woods give this perfume a great feeling. It was voted by STYLE.com as the top cult perfume.

This one is up there on my list. I have everything from Clean Perfume from the Men's line to the linen spray. My life would be incomplete without Clean. This fragrance is for people who don't really like wearing perfume. It smells extremely refreshing, and . .Clean! It feels like you just stepped out of the greatest shower of your life.

Other good brands are Bond, Kiehls, Apotha, Chloe ( vintages), Shalimar( shalimar light), and very very old Givenchy and Dior fragrances. One of my friends collects tiny sample bottles from the 50s and 60s, they aren't really sample bottles, because their design is gorgeous!

I have to go pick up dry cleaning before they close!
Benefit event in a week, and I still have to go dress shopping!

Boots and Boots and More Boots

" walking in a single girl's life may be hard, thats why sometimes need those shoes. . . to make the walk a bit more interesting" satc

( okay, it's not verbatim, but you get the idea)

My hogan riding boots just came in and I am in LOVE with them, I am currently wearing them with my Chloe jeans tucked in with a white chiffon blouse and a head band.

I also really like the Matisse boot which is essentially the much-less expensive versio, but the leather is fabulous, and there's suede too! it's all made in brazil and I adore it.
There is also the old Hermes boot

I love it how the media butchered a fashion staple ( the cowboy boot) and now it's so god damned trendy and almost fad-ish.

So I have to go my 2 favorite Bs ( bloomingdales and bergdorfs)

Oh I have to wrap this up, Parker is here.
I'll finish this next time

Ciao!

Americans are SO 10 years ago. ( this is one of my nice blogs)

At first it was Christy, Naomi, Linda, Cindy, and Janice- the power houses of the late 80s and 90s. Little girls who look like these women were getting jobs and shows left and right. These days, they're lucky if they're hired at Taste-D-lite.

Americans are SO out.

Brazilians are now out. Giselle and Adriana may still be seen around, but everyone knows that the Russkies and S.E. European girls have dominated the scene. What's so attractive about these girls? well they have that " i'm emancipated because of stalin" look, with straight straight hair. Their complexions look like porcelain. Bedroom eyes and pillowy lips are pluses too. Ova, Uva, whateva, these girls are totally working it backstage at any show. Half of Russia can be seen at one of Amy Sacco's hotspots in the city any day of the week. Russians are suddenly in. It could be because of their fabulous liquor, or their heavy fashion influences?

I mean, who wants a size 2 blonde girls with big boobs and a bubble butt? These prom queen look-a-likes are so common these days, the euphism is called. . .." commercial "

What ethnicity will be next? the Indian/Middle easterners are a good bet, or the Asian/Oriental posse? My bet is on the Asians.

So we should all raise our vodka martini glasses and propose a toast to the fabulous Russians. Do we love them? Absolut-ly
