I'm Back!

I'm back from London!

London fashion week was very very interesting. No one does it like the Brits. The Agent Provocateur show was quite good. but that one year with Dita Von Tesse was absolutely fabulous. I did alot of shopping on my trip, naturally. I bought a number of breast cancer benefit items, and tons of SHOES, SWEATERS and BLOUSES( and purses, and coats, and skirts too for that matter). I went to Savile Row with a friend and helped him find the most stunning suit.

The British are much more relaxed and open than the Americans. Everyone tells me to move to Paris, but I can't imagine myself anywhere but NYC.

So my rent finally ended on the Hamptons property, hopefully next year, i'll get a house just as fabulous. I hate how New Jersey is moving to the Hamptons. I don't think New Jersey people get it; People go to the Hamptons to AVOID New Jersey people.

I think that the Hamptons should have an age limit. Over 20 or 21. I can't stand seeing teenagers and their posses everywhere being obnoxious in their Abercrombie and Fitch outfits, or even worse. . . SOLOWs.

SoLows are SO NewJersey/Long Island.

When Long Island got too cluttered and expensive, people started going to New Jersey. The better half had enought brains to move to Connecticut.

Connecticut and New Jersey have very distinct styles. A typical New Jersey living room tries to be contemporary and modern with Italian STYLE furniture from Seamans or Levitz, while Connecticut-ians are more of a nuveau Park Avenue.

New Jersey- Juicy. Connecticut- Lacoste
Maryland- Ralph Lauren. North Carolina- Abercrombie and Fitch. Florida- Lilly Pulitzer.

I am almost at the top of the waitlist for a Birkin. I am ADDICTED to Hermes, after my first bag( the Kelly), I couldn't stop. My first purchase was the belt and scarf, and then it grew to bags. (The Kelly was a gift).

I also did alot of horseback riding in England, and I kept my boots and they are so versatile and absolutely fabulous.

If you are a Vintage Jewelry fan, then you MUST go on a pilgrimmage to England. There's everything from Van Dell to The Royal Family knock offs. I got this great pearl necklace a la Princess Di for only 5000 american dollars. I think everything is expensive in the states now, because i'm so used to looking at pounds.

AND I got a haircut, at the most fabulous up and coming salon in London. I won't drop it's name, but I garantee it will be in Elle shopping section next month. It's short short short. for me anyways. I can still barely put it up, when i do, a few pieces fall at my neck. I guess thats the beauty of it. It's a better blonde now. I dare not go to my monthly appointment at Bergdorfs now because my colorist will get very upset with me.

November could be one of my favorite months. Take a wild guess why.

SHOPPING!

Ciao
